We had such a great Christmas! It was just us on Christmas Eve, and it really was a fun day together. Dustin only had to work for a few hours in the morning, and then we ran a few last minute errands and finished up some Christmas preparations. It was fun and so relaxing.
That afternoon the kids and I made sugar cookies for Santa, which we all LOVE making and eating. Kennedy especially loves to help, and wear her apron and taste everything. Hudson started out really excited to help and was being good and very cute, but he got bored quickly and soon was making messes and terrorizing the house.

Based on his behavior on Christmas Eve, it really is a wonder Santa brought him anything...he knocked down a few of the little trees a couple of times, tried to open some presents several times, and pretty much tried to ruin our traditional fancy Christmas Eve dinner of crab legs and cheddar garlic biscuits....ughh...two-year-olds. Whatcha gonna do??
Kennedy and I love to have fancy dinners and use the nice dishes, eat in the dining room, and light candles. Dustin is good to put up with it, and Hudson does his best to not cooperate at all...
That night the kids got to open thier new jammies and we read Christmas stories together before tucking them in.
Kennedy was so excited, but still was asleep really quickly and didn't get up until almost 8 o'clock...I love that girl! We were so grateful for her not waking up at, like, 4 am like I always tried to...
Here is Hudson with his loot. You'd never know what a nightmare he is most of the time...apparently Santa is a sucker for that little smile, as well...
And here is Kennedy with her haul. She was such a good girl this year, and this proves it! She was so excited about her American Girl doll and the beautiful horse to go with it. She was so much fun for Christmas this year!
What a fun Christmas! I love how you say Hudson was naughty but its so hard to imagine when you post those stinkin cute pictures of him! :) I love Kennedy's doll how cute. Also cute cups with your initials, they must have been very expensive since they came from Anthropologie!! Hope to see ya soon!! -Jenna
ReplyDeleteShelli,
ReplyDeleteI told Jed earlier about Hudson and how he was a little naughty on Christmas eve when Santa was on his way, knocking over tree's and unwrapping presents. His eye's got all big and he has asked me over and over to tell him the "Hudson Story". He is so interested and entertained that someone else besides him would be naughty. I think that will be his favorite story for a while. I started making it funnier and naughtier each time I told it. (Sorry Hudson) It sounds like you had such a relaxing and nice Christmas. We missed seeing you at the Jorgy party but maybe next year. Love you, Jill
Thank you! I know that he can be a handful some times:) I'm glade to see that you had a good Christmas. Let us know if you guys ever want to get together. We love games and get together.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun Christmas! I just love your blog Shelli, it's always so much fun to read.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect Christmas! And really when you were Hudson's age you had a 3 year old brother and a baby brother so one cute little 2 year isn't so bad! I know what you're thinking......just wait for those 10 days in February.
ReplyDeleteI started to feel bad that Hudson was so naughty, but then I read your going to Grenada and DR, and I didn't feel bad anymore. JK!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for a daughter to love getting out the fancy dishes!
Just wait till Hudson gets a little older and no one will be sleeping in on Christmas morning. There's one in every house.
